Hey, I’m Evan

Most agents learn this business the same way: get a license, take a listing, figure it out as they go. That's fine. It's also not how I got here.

I'm Evan Moore, and Moore Real Estate is officially open for business in the South Sound. Before the "welcome to my blog" pleasantries, I want to tell you why this site exists and why I think you should read past this first post.

I came into real estate sideways (and that's the point.)

My first job out of college was inside a mortgage broker's office, training as a loan officer while running their marketing at the same time. That dual seat taught me something most agents never touch: how homes actually get financed, not just listed and sold. I can read a loan estimate. I can spot a lender problem before it derails your closing. I've sat on the side of the table where the money gets approved or doesn't.

From there I moved into commercial real estate, running marketing for a private equity group on deals from five million to over a hundred and forty-five million dollars. That's where I learned how serious investors actually think about positioning an asset, what creates real demand versus what just sits on a listing page hoping someone notices.

Today I hold the top sales position at Zillow, working the most competitive accounts in the company. I watch buyer behavior and listing performance every day, at a scale most local agents never see.

And I'm not just advising from the sidelines, I've owned and managed rental property since 2018. When I tell you how to think about pricing or timing, it's with my own money on the line too, not just yours.

My first transaction as an agent was selling my own parents their home here in the South Sound. It's one sale, but it's the one that mattered most to get right (no room for guesswork when it's family.)

A little about who I am outside of real estate.

I've got a beautiful wife, three young daughters, and a golden retriever who thinks he runs the household. Most of my time outside of work is spent outside, period — I'll take fresh air over a couch any day I can get it. That's part of why I do this work the way I do: helping a family move into their next chapter isn't abstract to me, it's the same thing I care about in my own life.

Why this blog exists.

If you're planning to sell a home in Puyallup, Pierce County, or the surrounding South Sound, you're going to get a lot of advice from a lot of agents. Most of it will be generic - "clean and declutter," "price it right," "we'll market it well." All true, but not particularly useful on its own.

What I want this blog to be is the specific stuff, the data that will paint a clear view into buyers expectations for the market and how we can align with them: what's actually happening in this market right now, what a seller in this county needs to know that a national article won't tell them, and the plain language version of financing and closing details that usually get buried in paperwork. I'll get into local market data and specific target areas in future posts, this one's just meant to introduce who I am.

If you're thinking about selling or buying, I'd love to connect with you, you can reach out through either the "I'm Selling" or "I'm Buying" page on this site. And if this was useful, I'd take it as a compliment if you passed it along to someone else who's thinking about their next move.
